A lift that comes up out of level is not a cosmetic complaint. It is a load problem.
A cradle that rises unevenly puts a disproportionate share of the boat onto one side of the structure and onto one cable. Everything on the loaded side then ages faster than its opposite number, which is how an alignment problem becomes a cable problem.
On larger cradles with a drive at each end, the two sides can gradually lose synchronisation. The result looks like a mechanical fault on the slow side, but the cause is that the two drives are no longer agreeing about position.
Bunks are what the boat actually rests on, and they need to match the hull. Bunks set for a previous boat, or that have shifted, put the load into the wrong part of the hull. That is a boat problem as much as a lift problem.
Worth addressing before the next season. It is loading one cable and one side of the frame more than they were designed for, and cable failure under load is the outcome you are avoiding.
